Void Acoustics at Glastonbury 2017
- July 2017
This year we cranked things up a notch at Glastonbury and had the privilege of showcasing one of our sound systems on the Love Bullets stage.
Intentcity Productions worked with Twisted Audio who provided eight of our Air Motions, with Stasys 218 low frequency enclosures in a cardioid bass array, Air Stream loudspeakers, and four Stasys 118 low frequency enclosures on monitor duties, to immerse the crowd in incredible sound.
Throughout the festival, the Love Bullets stage featured memorable DJ sets by headline acts that included Kölsch, Skream, Jamie Jones, Patrick Topping, Jack Master, Seth Troxler, Artwork, and Friday night’s brilliant back-to-back set by Eats Everything and Fatboy Slim.
Barry Williams (Owner of Twisted Audio) was thrilled with the crowd’s response. “We had a great time at Glastonbury this year! The Love Bullets stage started off as a small project but got bigger and bigger. When it all came together, we were blown away with the efforts everyone put forward to make this happen. We designed the sound system with two things in mind: make it sound great and keep the sound contained within the tent. To achieve this we placed Air Motions around the perimeter of the space and setup the low frequency enclosures in a cardioid array. We were overwhelmed by positive comments from DJs and attendees telling us how great the sound was in the tent and heard no complaints from our neighbouring stages.”
elrow’s Freddy Norris echoed Barry’s enthusiasm for the event - “We’re very happy with how everything turned out - it sounded awesome!”
Our UK Sales Manager, Jake Manley, was integral to the smooth running of the Love Bullets stage, arriving on site 48 hours before the official Thursday night opening to ensure all the necessary preparations were made to make it a success. “The excitement had been building for months ahead of this brilliant event. We’re grateful to Barry Williams for providing a massive Air Motions system and the light show. The festival this year was like no other - everyone involved created an amazing experience for all who came to the Love Bullets stage.”
Additional Void sound systems were used across Glastonbury, including: Neuron Pro Audio’s thunderous system, comprised of Air Arrays, Stasys Xairs and Hyperfolds for the Clash stage within Shangri-La; NSL Productions using their brand new Arcline 8 system for the solar powered Croissant Neuf stage in Green Fields; and two bars –the Ridge & Furrow and The Open Arms.
Our thanks go to everyone who made the event such a success this year, with a special thanks going to the team at Intentcity Productions.
